Yu Takahashi (born on December 26, 1983 in Akita, Japan) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Learning the electric guitar during middle school and later performing as a singer in a hardcore punk cover band, Takahashi moved to Sapporo to focus on his solo career, self-releasing debut album Sepia in February 2002. For the next five years, he focused on performing locally, releasing his second album Mugon no Bōryoku in 2007, which debuted at number 1 on the independent releases chart.
