Walid Toutounji, known professionally as Walid Toufic, was born on April 8,
1954, in Tripoli, Lebanon. He grew up in a Sunni family and later moved to
western Beirut, where he began his musical journey under the tutelage of oud
master Amin Azar. Toufic's breakthrough came in Egypt, where he gained
popularity and started his acting career, starring in films with prominent
Egyptian and Arab stars such as Farid al-Atrash and Mariam Fakhr Eddine. His
