The German-Greek singer Vicky Leandros was born in Corfu on 23 August 1952. In July 1965, she released her debut single "Messer, Gabel, Schere, Licht ", which reached number 16 in the charts in Germany. Her debut album Songs and Folklore was released in October 1966, before she went on to represent Luxembourg at the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest.
