Known for her husky voice and curvacious physique, the irreverent Brazilian singer, dancer, and television personality Valesca Popozuda rose to prominence in the early aughts as a member of the all-girl group Gaiola das Popozudas. Born Valesca Reis Santos on October 6, 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, she joined Gaoila das Popozudas in 2000 and went on to pioneer the funk carioca genre with the singles "Late Que Eu Tô Passando," "Agora Eu Tô Solteira," and "Quero Te Dar," some of which were remixed and included in compilations by international DJs such as Diplo and Makossa & Megablast.
