Thomas Paul Frederick Dutton, known professionally as Tom Aspaul, was born on
September 16, 1986, in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. He is a singer and
songwriter who grew up on a council estate in the Black Country. Aspaul's music
career began while studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design
in London. In 2013, he uploaded a demo to SoundCloud, leading to the signing of
his single "Indiana" by Little Boots' label, On Repeat Records. Produced by
MNEK, the single gained support from Popjustice and Pitchfork.
In 2020, Aspaul self-released his debut album Black Count...
