Today Is the Day, a noise rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, was formed in
March 1992 by guitarist Steve Austin and drummer Brad Elrod. Their first
release, the demo EP How to Win Friends and Influence People (1992), led to
their signing with Amphetamine Reptile Records in February 1993. The band's
debut album, Supernova, was released that same year. In September 1994, they
gained underground metal popularity with Willpower, followed by a 1996's
eponymous full-length. Today Is the Day left Amphetamine Reptile Records in 1997
