The Trials of Cato, a Welsh/English folk band, was formed by Tomos Williams and
Robin Jones, who grew up in Ponciau, Wrexham. The original trio included Will
Addison, whom they met at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Their debut EP, The Trials of
Cato, was recorded in London in 2016 after the band quit their jobs as English
teachers in Beirut to focus on music. In 2018, The Trials of Cato released their
first full-length album, Hide and Hair, which won Best Album at the BBC Radio 2
