The Soft Boys, a British proto-punk and power-pop band, were formed in 1976 in
Cambridge by Robyn Hitchcock. The group initially consisted of Hitchcock on
vocals and guitar, Andy Metcalfe on bass, Morris Windsor on drums, and Alan
Davies on guitar. They released their first single "Give It to the Soft Boys" in
July 1977 through Raw Records. In 1978, Kimberley Rew replaced Davies on guitar.
The band's debut album A Can of Bees was released in 1979, followed by
