The Reindeer Section
The Reindeer Section was a Scottish indie rock supergroup formed in 2001 by Gary
Lightbody of Snow Patrol, who served as lead vocalist and guitarist. Lightbody’s
early background included playing in local bands before joining Snow Patrol in
the late 1990s. The initial breakthrough came when Lightbody challenged fellow
musicians at a Lou Barlow gig in Glasgow to create an album together; the group
recorded Y'All Get Scared Now, Ya Hear! in late 2001, releasing it on
