The Hyènes formed in 2005 to compose the soundtrack for Albert Dupontel's film
Enfermés dehors. Made up of Denis Barthe (drums, vocals) and Jean-Paul Roy
(guitar), Noir Désir's rhythm section, and Olivier Mathios (bass) and Vincent
Bosler (guitar, vocals), The Hyènes had no intention of doing more than a
temporary gig. Faced with the demands and uncertainties surrounding Noir Désir's
future, The Hyènes became a real band, performing live and releasing an album of
