Formed in London in 1988, The Grid comprises keyboardist Dave Ball, best known
for his work with Soft Cell, and Richard Norris (vocals, bass), supported by
guest musicians and vocalists. After working together on Psychic TV, Ball and
Norris created the M.E.S.H. project, which recorded the track "Meet Every
Situation Head On", before changing its name. The Grid's first hit in 1990,
"Flotation", from the album Electric Head, reached No. 60. Moving from EastWest
to Virgin, the duo recorded the album 456 (1992), from which four hits were
