The Getaway Plan was formed in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia, by Matthew Wright
(lead vocals, piano, rhythm guitar) and Clint Owen Ellis (lead guitar). The duo
began performing as a pop‑punk group before adding drummer Aaron Barnett and
bassist Dave Anderson, creating a heavier sound that would define their early
releases. Their first commercial effort, the EP Hold Conversation (2006), gained
national attention on Triple J and led to a contract with Boomtown Records. In
