The Family Cat
The Family Cat was a British indie rock group formed in 1988 in Stoke Newington,
London, comprising Paul Frederick (guitar, vocals), Stephen Jelbert (lead
guitar), Tim McVay (guitar), John Graves (bass guitar), and Kevin Downing
(drums); the ensemble emerged from members originally from Cornwall, Plymouth
and Southampton. Their breakthrough came with the 1989 single "Tom Verlaine",
