New Zealand indie rock band, The Beths formed in Auckland in 2014 with Elizabeth
Stokes (vocals, rhythm guitar), Jonathan Pearce (lead guitar), Benjamin Sinclair
(bass) and Ivan Luketina-Johnston (drums, percussion), replaced in 2019 by
Tristan Deck. In a power pop style with catchy melodies, the band of former
music students made a name for themselves in 2016 with the Warm Blood EP, which
reached No. 84 in the charts, followed two years later by the album Future Hates
