Terry Gibbs, born Julius Gubenko on October 13, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, was an American vibraphonist. At twelve, he won an amateur xylophone contest. After serving in World War II, Gibbs began his professional career with Tommy Dorsey from 1946 to 1948 and later performed with Chubby Jackson, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman's band, and Benny Goodman. In 1957, he moved to Los Angeles, working as a studio musician and leading the Terry Gibbs Dream Band.
