Gospel and jazz a cappella sextet Take 6 – originally known as The Gentlemen’s
Estates Quartet - formed in Huntsville, Alabama in 1980. The group, whose
vocalists also reproduce the sounds of percussion and double bass - has been
nominated for over 20 Grammy Awards, winning a total of eight. They’ve also won
numerous GMA Dove Awards. Outside of their own releases and tours, they’ve
collaborated with artists such as Ray Charles, k.d. Lang, The Manhattan
Transfer, Quincy Jones, Don Henley, Joe Sample, Whitney Houston and many others.
