Stanley Edward Hitchcock, born March 22, 1936, in Pleasant Hope, Missouri, was
an American country music singer. He began performing on local radio stations at
age 12 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. After being discovered by
Red Foley, Hitchcock signed with Columbia Records and released his first
recordings in 1961. His biggest hit, "Honey I'm Home", reached number 17 on the
country charts in 1969 while he was with Epic Records. Throughout the 1970s and
1980s, Hitchcock released several albums, including Just Call Me Lonesome (1965)
and Softly and Tenderly (1969). ...
