Sophie Auster, born on July 6, 1987 in Brooklyn, New York City, is an American
singer and songwriter. She began studying music at age eight and made her acting
debut in Washington Square a year later. At 16, Sophie Auster recorded her first
album with musicians Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp of One Ring Zero, released
by Naïve Records. In 2015, she released the full-length LP Dogs and Men. She won
the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 2016 for "Little Bird" and Cosmopolitan
