emerging from Ronnie Hawkins’ backup ensemble, including guitarist Doug Edwards
and vocalist Donny Gerrard. The band’s early lineup featured David Foster on
keyboards, Carl Graves on percussion, and Robbie King on organ, establishing a
pop‑rock sound that blended soulful harmonies with melodic hooks. Their debut
self‑titled album Skylark was released in 1972 under Capitol Records, producing
