Skunk Anansie
Skunk Anansie was born in London in 1994. Led by shaven-headed singer Skin, the
punk- and heavy-metal-influenced band drew attention with their debut album
Paranoid & Sunburnt, released the following year. Their energetic, committed
alternative rock, steeped in blues, funk and dub roots, proved a hit with a
number of emblematic tracks, from Stoosh (1996) to the more experimental Post
Orgasmic Chill (1999). Despite intensive touring, the English band left the
