Pioneering Japanese rockers The Sadistic Mika Band formed in November 1971, led
by the husband and wife duo Kazuhiko and Mika Katō. Kazuhiko, already a
celebrated figure, married Mika Fukui, a folk singer, in Vancouver in 1970, and
their union quickly captured the media's attention. Inspired by the UK's glam
rock movement, led by icons like T. Rex and David Bowie, Kazuhiko set out to
create a similar buzz in Japan. The original lineup included Kazuhiko on guitar
