Sabah Fakhri, born on May 2, 1933 in Aleppo, Syria, was a tenor singer. He
graduated from the Academy of Damascus in 1948 and began his career with a
performance at the Presidential Palace in Damascus. Fakhri is known for
revitalizing traditional Arabic music forms like Muwashahat and Qudud Halabiya.
He was awarded the Syrian Order of Merit of Excellent Degree in 2007. Fakhri
died on November 2, 2021, in Damascus at the age of 88.
