Although not strictly speaking a country tenor, guitarist and songwriter Rodney Crowell (born in Crosby, Texas, on August 7, 1950) is a recognized figure. His early career was marked by his membership of Emmylou Harris's Hot Band, from 1975 to 1977, for whom he continued to write regularly thereafter. Married to Rosanne Cash in 1979, the couple divorced in 1991, but reunited from time to time.
