Hendrika "Rita" Sturm, known professionally as Rita Corita, and born on November
24, 1917, in Amsterdam, was a singer, accordionist, and actress. She began her
career as a singer and accordionist, performing at her father's café. In the
mid-1930s, she joined The Four Serenaders and married the group's leader, Coen
Ooms. Together, they formed the duo De Coritas. Her breakthrough came in 1957
with the release of "Koffie, koffie, lekker bakkie koffie", which sold over
