Pungent Stench, a death metal band from Vienna, Austria, was formed in 1988 by
Martin Schirenc and Alex Wank. The trio, completed with Jacek Perkowski on bass,
quickly gained traction after releasing their first demo tape, Mucous Secretion,
in April 1988. Their breakthrough came when they signed with Nuclear Blast in
1989, leading to the release of their debut album, For God Your Soul... For Me
Your Flesh, in October 1990. The band's unique blend of death metal and
