Pug Jelly was a mult-national pop punk band formed by Japanese guitarist Masashi
Kimura and Australian brothers Australians Sam Cooper (vocals, bass)) and Matt
Cooper (drums). The bandmates met while enrolled at the same high school in
Singapore, where they launched Pug Jelly in 1999. After signing with Universal
Records, Pug Jelly released the debut album Motivation for Getting Up in the
Morning in 2004 and played shows alongside pop punk heavyweights like Fall Out
