Proyección, a Bolivian folk music group, was founded in 1979 in Cochabamba.
Initially known as Proyección Kjarkas, they released their first two albums,
Abierto mi Corazón and Mis Penas. In 1984, the group renamed itself to simply
Proyección and moved to La Paz, releasing No Vuelvo a Amar (1984). In 1986, they
rebranded as Proyección - La Nueva Expresión del Folklore de Bolivia. Their
international recognition grew with hits like "Secreto Amor" (1989) and "Sambos
