Pro-Pain, an American metal band from New York, was formed in 1991 by Gary
Meskil. Their debut album, Foul Taste of Freedom, released in May 1992,
showcased influences from hardcore punk and rap metal. This led to a signing
with Roadrunner Records, who reissued the album the following year. Pro-Pain's
second studio effort, The Truth Hurts (1994), faced controversy due to its cover
art but featured notable singles like "Put the Lights Out" and "State of Mind".
