Philip John Mogg, known as Phil Mogg, was born on April 15, 1948 in Wood Green,
London. He is the frontman and founding member of the legendary British hard
rock band UFO, which was founded in 1969. The band led the way in the transition
from early hard rock to heavy metal and influenced many later rock bands such as
Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. In addition to Phil Mogg, the best-known members of
UFO included Pete Way (bass), Michael Schenker (guitar) and Andy Parker (drums).
Phil Mogg sang on all 22 UFO studio albums. The band's best-known albums are
Lights Out (1977), Obsession...
