Peter Sarstedt
Born in Delhi, India, singer-songwriter Peter Sarstedt was the son of two
British civil servants. When the family returned to England in 1954 Sarstedt and
his brother Robin did what many other musically inclined young men did: they
started a skiffle group. From these humble beginnings Sarstedt went on to play
bass for his elder brother, the pop star Eden Kane, before signing a solo deal
with United Artists and releasing 'Where Do You Go to My Lovely' in 1969,
topping the charts in 14 countries.
