George Peter John Criscuola, known as Peter Criss, was born on December 20 1945
in Brooklyn, New York, and became a drummer. After early stints with local
groups such as the Barracudas and Chelsea, he joined Paul Stanley and Gene
Simmons in 1972, forming Kiss and adopting the Catman persona. His debut with
Kiss came in 1974 on the self‑titled Kiss album, and he co‑wrote the hit "Beth",
which peaked at Number 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. Peter Criss
