Paul van Dyk
The German DJ and music producer Paul van Dyk was born Matthias Paul on December
16, 1971 in Eisenhüttenstadt in the former GDR. He is one of the most successful
DJs in the world and makes music in the style of trance. Paul van Dyk grew up in
East Berlin and became interested in music while still at school. In 1989, he
left for West Germany, Hamburg, with his mother. He later returned to Berlin and
began DJing in the clubs Tresor and Turbine. His debut single with Cosmic Baby
"Perfect Day" was released in 1992 and his debut album 45 RPM in 1993. Paul van
