Paul Brandt, born Paul Rennée Belobersycky on July 21, 1972, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a Canadian country music artist. He first sang publicly at his high school and later graduated from Mount Royal University with a degree in nursing. Brandt's breakthrough came in 1996 with the single "My Heart Has a History", which reached Number 1 in Canada and marked him as the first male Canadian country singer to reach the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart since Hank Snow in 1974.
