Baba Ndiaye is a Senegalese rapper born in 1994 in Madina Gounass, a
working-class district of Dakar. He was raised by his older brother, one of five
siblings. He began writing his first lyrics at the age of nine. When he began
his career, he adopted the stage name Ngaaka Blindé ("Ngaaka" means "ignorant")
and quickly earned the nickname King Baba. He joined the rap group Young Star,
but left in 2008 to form Oundou Yi. But the adventure turned out to be
short-lived, and he went solo in 2011, releasing the track "Lepp Fay". In 2013,
