Popular Latin synth-pop group Mœnia consists of vocalist Alfonso Pichardo,
keyboardist Jorge Soto and keyboardist/programmer Alex Midi. They started
playing together in high school and took part in several concerts at that time,
releasing their self-titled debut album Mœnia in 1991 on the Polygram record
label. The album was not a commercial success, and in 1993 Pichardo left the
group and was replaced by Juan Carlos Lozana on vocals. They had an opportunity
to release their debut album in 1996 with Universal Latin, which they did with
