Mike Laure
Miguel Laure Rubio, known professionally as Mike Laure, was born on September
29, 1937, in El Salto, Jalisco, Mexico. He started his music career in the late
1950s as a rock & roll musician and formed Mike Laure y sus cometas in 1957. In
the early 1960s, Mike Laure shifted to tropical rhythms, notably cumbia,
achieving his first major success with "Tiburón a la vista". His subsequent hits
included "La banda borracha" (1966), which topped Mexican music charts. Known as
