Michelle Shocked is a rebel. A real one, a tattooed one, a pure one. Michelle
Shocked is the name she gives to the police who arrest her during a
demonstration. Spotted in Great Britain with The Texas Campfire Tapes, she
released Short Sharp Shocked in 1988, which made her known in the United States
via the university network. Too independent to remain within the major label
system, she set up her own Mighty Sound label in 2002 and released Deep Natural
