Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol, born on September 24, 1974, in Istanbul, Turkey, is a
Turkish-American composer, singer, and jazz pianist. He began studying piano at
an early age and performed recitals by five. In 1996, he formed his first jazz
band and toured Turkey. The following year, he co-founded the electric jazz band
AudioFact. Sanlıkol composed Keloğlan: The Bald Boy and His Magic Lute in 2007,
a cantata for PALS children's chorus with Turkish instruments. He has been
