MC Jin, born Jin Au-Yeung in Miami, Florida on June 4, 1982 to Chinese parents, began his music career in earnest when he followed his parents to New York City in 2001. A gifted freestyle rapper, Jin competed on Freestyle Friday on BET’s 106 & Park, and was so successful he signed with hip-hop label Ruff Ryders.
