Mammút, an Icelandic rock band based in Reykjavík, was formed in 2003 as ROK,
featuring vocalist Katrína Kata Mogensen. The group expanded to a five-piece
band in early 2004 and adopted the name Mammút. Their breakthrough came when
they won Músiktilraunir, the Icelandic annual battle of the bands. The band's
debut album, Mammút, was released in Iceland in 2006 on the Smekkleysa label
