Los Cachorros de Juan Villarreal trace their origins back to 1962 when
accordionist Juan Villarreal and his brother José María Villarreal began
performing in Tamaulipas’s cantinas; following José’s passing in 1972, Juan
reassembled the group with singer and bajo sexto player Baldemar García,
