Born on September 5, 1939, in Cuencamé de Ceniceros, Durango, Lorenzo
Hernández—professionally known as Lorenzo de Monteclaro—started his musical
journey in the late 1950s by participating in the radio program Aficionados de
los Ejidos and recording his first singles soon after. His breakthrough came in
1973 with the hit “El Ausente,” which led to a series of successful releases,
