Leif Vollebekk, born in Ottawa, Ontario in 2010, is a Canadian indie folk
singer‑songwriter of Norwegian and French descent who began playing violin,
guitar and piano as a child. After studying philosophy at the University of
Ottawa and spending time in Iceland, he moved to Montreal to pursue music. His
debut album, Inland (2010), was released on Nevado Records and incorporated
songs written during his Icelandic trip. In 2013 he released North Americana on
Outside Music, a record that earned a Juno nomination and generated tens of
