Laurie Anderson (Laura Phillips Anderson) was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June
5, 1947. This underground multimedia artist burst onto the charts in 1981 with
the extraterrestrial hit "O Superman". Since then, the American violinist has
continued to explore the frontiers of the avant-garde through recordings and
artistic performances. In addition to accessible albums such as Big Science
(1981), Mister Heartbreak (1984) and Strange Angels (1989), the artist explores
various disciplines including mime, dance, video and performance art. Married to
Lou Reed from 2008 until his death...
