Born Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir on 23 April 1999 in Reykjavík, Iceland to an Icelandic father and Chinese mother, the jazz-influenced bedroom popstar known as Laufey moved between her homeland and the US during her childhood, which ultimately played a part in shaping her musical style.
