Koichi Domoto, born January 1, 1979, in Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, is a Japanese
idol, singer-songwriter, actor, and one-half of the popular duo KinKi Kids. His
career began unexpectedly when his sister sent his resume to Johnny’s
Entertainment. After watching a Hikaru GENJI concert at age 12, he decided to
join the agency. Alongside Tsuyoshi Domoto, whom he met at his first audition,
Koichi commuted between Osaka and Tokyo for training before moving to Tokyo
