Founded in the Northern Territory in 2020, King Stingray is an Australian surf
rock band formed by friends Yirrŋa Yunupiŋu (vocals) and Roy Kellaway (guitar);
descendants of the founding members of Australian band Yothu Yindi. Joining them
in 2020 was Dimathaya Burarrwanga (didgeridoo/guitar), Campbell Messer
(bass/banjo) and Lewis Stiles (drums), and by October, they had released their
debut single “Hey Wanhaka”, followed by their infectious Summer hit “Get Me Out”
