Kardeş Türküler is a Turkish folk music and dance collective formed by students
of Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. Launched in 1993, the group made its
live debut later that year at a concert sponsored by the Boğaziçi University
Folklore Club, where they performed a multi-cultural mix of Turkish, Greek,
Kurdish, Azerbaijani, Gypsy, and Armenian songs. The show was a hit, and the
group continued performing local concerts before releasing a self-titled debut
