Jurassic 5
Following in the footsteps of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, the Jurassic
5 collective was formed in 1993 around DJs Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark and four
MCs. Practicing an elegant rap style that makes room for extensive vocal
participation, the group established itself as one of the most original on the
West Coast with Jurassic 5 (1998) and the masterpiece Quality Control (2000),
before Cut Chemist left in 2003 and split in 2007.
