Jolin Tsai (蔡依林; born September 15, 1980, in Hsinchuang, New Taipei City) is a
Taiwanese singer-songwriter and cultural icon who rose to fame after winning a
1998 MTV Mandarin–Sony singing contest. Her teenage debut album 1019 (1999) made
her a pop sensation and, with follow‑ups like Don't Stop (2000), she quickly
became one of Taiwan’s top-selling female artists, routinely topping domestic
